Study Abroad Ambassadors

Study abroad ambassadors gain important leadership experience while doing something they love: talking about their travels abroad. The Study Abroad Ambassador program allows you to serve as a role model on campus by providing information and guidance about the study abroad process, as well as by sharing your personal experiences with peers and others within the USI community.  

If you are planning to study abroad, consider applying to become a study abroad ambassador. Ambassadors receive a scholarship of $1,000-$2,000 (amount depending on length of study) to defray the costs of studying abroad.

Both abroad and upon  your return from studying abroad, you would help us with sharing your experiences. While abroad you can share blogs, vlogs, photos, and videos to share or skype with students back at USI who are interested in going abroad. Upon return you will participate in study abroad informational sessions, study abroad orientation activities, answer questions during Southern Hospitality Days, speak to classrooms, and/or work on a unique idea that you have created for study abroad promotion. This program is an excellent way to keep the memories of study abroad alive and help fund your travels abroad.
