University Experience Surveys
Each year on Assessment Day, in addition to academic testing, USI asks the students to complete a survey regarding their experiences while attending USI. The question topics range from experiences with their academic advisors to alcohol use. Many of the questions are asked each year, while others are asked only one year. Faculty and staff at USI are invited to submit questions for inclusion.

*NOTE - Due to changes in testing policy, we are transitioning into testing students as freshman and seniors. This means that for Assessment Day 2009, we administered an assessment test and the University Experience Survey to freshman ONLY. On Assessment Day 2010, seniors, as well as freshmen, will be required to take the assessment test and the University Experience Survey.
‡ NOTE - Beginning with Fall 2011, Freshmen were administered the EBI MAP-Works Freshment Transition Survey during Assessment Day activities instead of the University Experience Survey.
National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)
The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collects information about student participation in programs and activities, providing an estimate of how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college. This information is used by the university to provide for the learning and personal development of the students.
