How to Determine Your Browser Version
Your computer's version of Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox may not be something you often consider. However, to ensure internet security and effectiveness, it is important to know your web browser's version and how to keep it up to date.
Follow the instructions below to check your browser's version and update it if necessary.
Computer:
Chrome Firefox Safari Microsoft Edge
Mobile:
In the top right, click the three dots.
Select Help, then About Google Chrome.
Your browser will automatically check for and install updates and inform you of your current version.
If an update occurs, refresh the browser.
Click the three lines in the top right corner.
Select Help, then About Firefox.
Your browser will automatically check for and install updates and inform you of your current version.
If an update occurs, refresh the browser.
Click Safari on the menu bar
Click About Safari in the drop down menu.
The version will appear in a small pop-up menu.
Safari is updated as part of regular Mac Software updates. To check for updates, click the Apple menu and select Software Update.
Microsoft Edge (For Computers)
Click the three dots in the top right.
Select Help and Feedback, then About Microsoft Edge.
Your browser will automatically check for updates and inform your current version.
If an update occurs, refresh the browser.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner.
Tap the settings option.
Scroll to About Chrome, you will find the application version listed.
To update Chrome for Android, open the Play Store app.
Tap the profile icon, then Manage apps & devices
Under Updates available, find Chrome and tap update.
Tap the three dots button.
Tap Settings.
Scroll to About and select About Firefox. The version number should appear.
To update Firefox for android, open the Google Play Store.
Tap the menu in the upper left, then my apps & games.
If Firefox needs updated, it will appear in the Updates list
Tap the Update button to install.
The browser version for Safari is linked to the IOS version.
To find this, first go to the settings app.
Go to General and then About, the software version will be listed toward the top.
To check for updates, go to General, About, and Software Update.
