Faculty presentation: Dr. Abbas Foroughi, professor of computer information systems and chair of management and information sciences department, presented the attached paper, “Supply Chain Workforce Training: Addressing the Digital Skills Gap”, at the 2019 Convention of the Decision Sciences Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the paper was published in the conference proceedings. Additionally, Foroughi chaired a session, “Digitization and Industry 4.0: Current State of Digitization and Industry 4.0” at the conference.

Dr. Abbas Foroughi, professor of computer information systems and chair of management and information sciences; Dr. Mohammed Khayum, USI Interim Provost; and Dr. Jack Smothers, associate professor of management and MBA director, co-authored "Principle-Based MBA Course Design." Foroughi presented it at the 2018 DSI Annual Meeting in the Innovative Education and Teaching: Course Design and Assessment Session, in Chicago, IL.
Faculty publication: Dr. Dinko Bačić, assistant professor of computer information systems. His paper, “Biometrics & Business Information Visualization: Re-search Review, Agenda & Opportunities” was accepted to HCI International, a leading Human-Computer Interaction conference and will be published in Springer Computer Science Lecture Notes. This paper is important for the UPCI Lab as it creates a platform/research agenda well aligned with lab mission and technology.
Faculty Publication and Conference: Dr. Dinko Bačić. Bačić presented a paper at the Americas Conference on Information Systems, one of the leading conferences for presenting the broadest variety of research done by and for IS/IT academicians in the Western Hemisphere. His work will be published in AMCIS 2019 Conference Proceedings.
