About

New Harmony has always been ahead of its time and continues to be an example of how an intimate American community can still be vital in the 21st century. New Harmony’s history, architecture, historic buildings, gardens and nature trails attract residents and institutions that have similar values and want to work towards the community’s sustainability. These include University of Southern Indiana, Robert Lee Blaffer Foundation, Harmonie Associates, and New Harmony Business Associates, among many others. Historic New Harmony focuses on engaging these partners to impact the community in positive ways. The work of Historic New Harmony not only enriches the lives of the people residing in New Harmony, but its impact reaches throughout Indiana, across the United States, and even internationally, to engage people in the quest for livable, sustainable communities.
