Student Development Fund

The Student Development Fund provides USI students with financial support to take advantage of educational opportunities in an extra- or co-curricular setting. Funds provide for:

  • Registration fees for seminars, workshops and competitions which enhance student's academic experience
  • Admission tickets for theatre performances, art exhibits, musical events, lectures, literary workshops and other events related to the student's field of study
  • Travel expenses to appropriate academic and arts events related to the work of the College of Liberal Arts
  • Other expense deemed appropriate by the Student Development Fund Committee

Printable application forms for the Fund are available online, or hard copy forms can be found in the College of Liberal Arts office (LA 3001). Call 812-464-1855 for more information.

Forms should contain as much information as possible including dates (current and date of event), amount requested, names of students attending, signature of faculty representative, estimated total cost per student and an account number to be reimbursed by the Society when approval is complete. Payments cannot be made to students or other individuals unless special arrangements have been made with the Student Development Fund Committee.

In compliance with USI Travel regulations, additional forms must be filled out before trips are made with USI students - a Travel Authorization with Travel Services and a Field Trip Report with Risk Management.

Please keep in mind that the Fund is for financial assistance and administered by Committee approval. Faculty sponsors are urged to address all expenses when planning activities. Because of demand, requests may not be honored in all cases or at a level high enough to preclude the need for seeking support from additional sources.
