The English Department at USI offers a Bachelor of Arts in English Teaching and a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Creative Writing, Literature, or Professional Writing and Rhetoric.
English Teaching Majors and English Majors with a concentration in Professional Writing and Rhetoric may choose to complete a Bachelor of Science instead. The difference is a two year foreign language requirement. English faculty recommend the BA with the language requirement, because the study of foreign language gives students an advantage in an increasingly competitive global marketplace and diverse society.
