Post MSN Certificate Program Admission

The MSN and Post MSN online programs are limited to working with certain states in the U.S. only. Moving into a state not recognized by the graduate nursing program will lead to inability to continue in MSN coursework. The exception to this is active military status. Click here to see your availability.

We are currently reviewing applications for FNP, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Clinical Nurse Specialist for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. At this time we are not reviewing application for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Application Deadline is June 1, 2023.  Complete applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

Transfer course information

You may transfer in up to 6 credit hours in the Post MSN Certificate program.  These courses include graduate-level Pathophysiology and Pharmacology.  To consider transfer credits please consider the following questions:

Do I have a 3- credit hour Pathophysiology course at the graduate level?  Is my course grade a B or higher? Do I have a 3- credit hour Pharmacology course at the graduate level and do I hold prescriptive authority in the state I practice?  Was my course grade a B or higher?

These questions will be used to evaluate transfer credits in the Post MSN Certificate Program.  All students are required to take Advanced Health Assessment (first clinical course) through USI.  Evaluation of previous course work will determine your semester start date.

NURS 617 Advanced Pathophysiology: Runs fall semester.
NURS 622 Clinical Pharmacology: Runs spring semester.
NURS 618 Advanced Health Assessment: Runs summer semesters (10 weeks begins Summer 1)
