In 2011, Anchor Industries, Inc., the largest tent manufacturer in the US, announced their first student ideation contest. The contest challenged students to explore a variety of design issues and develop a new form of tent structure that can be introduced into the event rental market. Anchor tent products are used at large corporate, hospitality, and sporting events as well as private functions, such as designer weddings. The theme of the contest was "PARTY ON" and students were challenged to consider innovative ways to make the spaces used for these events unique and special.
The top two teams show off their tent designs. The winning team from left: Chelsea Schmidt, Adam Kaps, and Sarah Krampe. Second place team from left: Sara Rasnick and Jon Bond. |
