- Students must have at least a 2.0 GPA
- Students must declare the Food & Nutrition Major with a concentration/specialty of Nutrition & Wellness
With the shift in the force of health care toward prevention, Food and Nutrition professionals will play an important role in educating and, in the case of dietetics, treatments. A student in the Food and Nutrition program learns to evaluate the role of nutrition in optimizing health throughout the life cycle and responds to harmful nutrition practices through the three specialties offered: Dietetics, Food Service Management, and Nutrition and Wellness.

What is the market demand for graduates?
Demand for graduates who understand how nutrition and physical activity both play a part in overall wellness is a growing field. With the epidemic growth of obesity and related illness and the desire to understand how to age healthily, the graduates of this specialty will have many new employment opportunities. The Food and Nutrition Program is dedicated to preparing students for these new challenges
What are the career opportunities?
Graduates are prepared for a variety of bachelor's degree required positions in the health promotion field. Work settings may include Corporate Wellness Programs, Weight Management Programs, Private Practice with Athletic Teams, Fitness Industry in Fitness and Health Programs, as well as Community and Public Health Programs.
