Choose Your Own TLC

Every year USI designs TLCs just for YOU, so tell us what you want! 

The TLCs for 2022-2023 have already been chosen, so check those out in the side bar menu. 

For Screagles starting Fall 2023 or later: When you fill out your TLC application, you'll get to rank your top five TLC themes from a list of possibilities. Most TLCs house about 28 students, so we want to make sure we have a thriving community for you. 

By the first week of March, we'll reach out and tell you which TLC themes were most popular for next year! We will choose the top 3-5 TLC themes for each year...or even more, if we have enough interest from students. 

After the TLCs have been announced, you'll get to opt into one of the TLCs or you can choose to live in standard housing. 

We hope you'll find the perfect TLC for you! 

The optional themes for the future may include: 

Major Based TLCs -

Arts & Humanities - for students majoring in any arts or humanities, like theatre, English, world languages, etc

Education - for students majoring in early childhood, special, elementary, or secondary education

Exploring Majors - for students still deciding on majors OR deciding on what to do with their major

Romain College of Business - for students majoring in Business

Social Sciences - for students majoring in social sciences like psychology, sociology, political science, criminal justice, etc

Interest Based TLCs -

Esports & Gaming - is your free time spent on video games, Twitch, or Discord? 

Outdoor Adventures - would you like to find friends to hike, bike, rock climb, kayak, and more? 

Service & Leadership - excited about leadership roles on campus or community service opportunities? 

Sports & Fitness - like to spend your free time at the gym or playing intramurals?

Community Based TLCs - 

Pride (LGBTQA*) - an inclusive community for students of all genders and sexualities! 

and finally - Screagles - No specific theme! Just students who want a close community! :) All are welcome!

How do I apply? 

1. Apply for Housing, housing applications are available on December 1 on myUSI.
2. Click on the red housing icon on the left and follow the instructions.
3. After you've completed the main housing application, you will see a link to a special TLC application. You must complete the TLC application IN ADDITION to the main housing application. On the TLC application, you can rank the TLC options.
4. That's it! :) You'll hear back from us during the first week of March with a final list of TLC options for the academic year and you can make your choice then!
