The David L. Rice Library on campus is open daily and provides the discovery, sharing, and preservation of knowledge by providing exceptional spaces, resources, services, and personnel.
This database list includes all of the Rice Library's subscription databases, as well as several publicly available resources. Databases marked (INSPIRE) are freely available through the Indiana State Library to anyone with an Indiana IP address. No USI login necessary!
There are currently 51 computer labs on campus encompassing 1165 computers. Labs on campus offer the latest computers with access to Microsoft Office products, other software programs, and high-speed Internet access.
Most labs have printers available.
The mission of Academic Skills is to enhance student success and the educational process at the University of Southern Indiana. We provide academic support services through classes and other learning assistance programs.
Writing Lab
The Writers' Room (ED 1102) serves as a resource for undergraduate writers by providing assistance from peer writing consultants, a comfortable writing environment, and reference materials.
For writing assignments in any class and at any stage of the writing process, peer writing consultants can provide students with guidance and feedback.
All writing consultants complete an extensive training program led by the Academic Skills staff and are supervised by Writing Specialist Deanna Odney.
