Field Trips

Field trip are an important part of a geology curriculum.  At USI, geology majors participate in class field trips and have the opportunity to be involved in an extended summer field excursion.  In the past few years, we have visited Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, Crater Lake, and Big Bend.  These trips provide students with important hands-on learning experiences and opportunity to observe in person world-renowned geologic sites.  Finally, students incur minimal expense associated with these trips.
