Sending a Transcript to Transfer USI CAP Credits

Before enrolling in the College Achievement Program, it is the student's responsibility to contact the institution to which he or she is seeking admission to determine transferability of USI credits. The decision to recognize credits is the decision of the receiving institution.video demonstrating how to investigate course transfer is available for CAP families.

Upon graduation from high school, a student enrolling at the University of Southern Indiana does not need to request an official transcript. We strongly recommend that your bill is paid in full prior to attending orientation, and while on campus to register for freshman courses, be sure to mention to your advisor that you earned USI credit through CAP.

A student who enrolls at another college or university should send an official USI transcript no sooner than the conclusion of the senior year (detailed steps are below). The transcript must be sent directly from USI to the receiving college/university to be considered an official record. The college/university should provide an email or mailing address where the official transcript should be sent.

Official transcript requests will be processed only for those students who have met all financial obligations to the University.

Official transcripts are available from USI by mid-January (for fall courses) or mid-June (for yearlong and spring courses). Until official transcripts are available, students can view/print unofficial transcripts via myUSI. If you attend orientation and/or meet with your advisor to schedule courses before an official transcript is available, it is strongly recommended that you bring along an unofficial transcript.

What if I Don’t Know how to Log Into myUSI but Want to Do So?

If you no longer have your myUSI login information, call the IT Help Desk at 812-465-1080. Students will need to call for themselves; parents may not call on a student’s behalf. Callers will be asked security questions to verify their identity.

If you have any questions about the USI transcript request process, call the USI Registrar’s Office at 812-464-1763.
