The CAP Graduate Fee Waiver was developed to assist current and prospective CAP instructors in attaining certification to offer dual credit coursework under the Higher Learning Commission’s faculty requirements. The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), USI’s regional accreditor, requires that faculty have either a master's degree in the discipline or a master's degree in a related area with 18 graduate hours in the discipline or sub-field.
In Summer 2020, Indiana's original deadline for dual credit instructors was extended an additional year; instructors must now meet HLC criteria by 9/1/2023. The HLC extension allows schools to continue to meet accountability metrics and continue to confer Honors Diplomas.
