Orientation Leader Application

Orientation Leaders are highly motivated, involved student leaders who assist with implementing Screaming Eagles Orientation. Orientation Leaders are guides for new students and their families as they transition to USI. Orientation Leaders undergo a rigorous selection and training process and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to answer any question that USI's newest Screaming Eagles may have. This is a paid position with summer orientation dates. Summer housing is provided on orientation dates for anyone living further than 30 miles from USI.

  • Application: Apply Now
    • Applicants are asked to submit a reference's name and email, who will be contacted via email to complete a recommendation form on behalf of the applicant. This can be a USI faculty or staff, or a past supervisor, teacher, coach, etc..., who can speak on behalf of your character. Upon completion of this application, your reference will be emailed a reference form to complete. Please contact them to let them know they will be emailed.
    • The application takes 10 minutes to complete.

  • Human Resources - I-9 Acceptable Documents | This is the I-9 HR document to review to know which items to bring with you if you are selected. Please have access to one item from List A or bring one from Lists B and C. These must be official documents, not copies. Direct deposit bank information will also be needed if selected.

Info Sessions are led by current Orientation Leaders and offer the opportunity to learn about the position, the upcoming Orientation program, and more. Dates and times of the info sessions are to be announced.

Furthering your leadership potential. Following their year as an Orientation Leader, students will have the opportunity to apply for next year’s Orientation Team as Returning Orientation Leaders. They serve as role models and mentors for first-year Orientation Leaders and assist with the planning and developing the Orientation program and the Orientation Leader experience.

Additionally, many Orientation Leaders continue to serve USI by becoming Student Ambassadors, Peer Mentors, Resident Assistants, members of Student Government, Welcome Week Leaders, and Research Assistants, to name a few.
