Our Roots in Wood: Sculpture from the University of Southern Indiana’s Permanent Collection. Curated by Gabby Pyle and Susan Sauls

Two exhibitions will on display with the McCutchan Art Center and Pace Galleries from September 15 through October 25, 2019. Still Kicking and Carving: John McNaughton features the work of nationally acclaimed artist and retired USI Woodworking Professor, John McNaughton. The work in this exhibition is made up of meticulously fashioned, wooden sculptures and function objects, both big and small, with subject matter ranging from political commentary to personal struggles.

Complementing McNaughton’s exhibition, Our Roots in Wood: Sculpture from the University of Southern Indiana’s Permanent Collection features wood-media artworks owned by the university.  Current James Sanders Fellowship recipient, Gabby Pyle and Susan Sauls, Director of University Art Collections at USI, curated this exhibition.

There will be a reception for the exhibitions will be on Friday, October 25th, from 2 to 4 pm.  Light refreshments will be served and the public is cordially invited to attend.  The exhibit is open 10 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday and 1 pm to 5 pm on Sunday.  The McCutchan Art Center/ Pace Galleries is located in the lower level of the Liberal Arts Building.
