Program Admission

How to Apply

All persons interested in pursuing the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art degree in Food and Nutrition must:

Step 1. Apply for Admission to the University

Applicants must complete an admission application and submit to the USI Office of Admission. 

OR

Apply for a Change of Academic Program

Continuing students with at least a 2.9 grade point average may apply for this major and will need to complete a change of academic program form with the Office of the Registrar. 

Step 2. Submit an Application of Interest to the Program

A Student Information Packet should be submitted to the attention of:

Transfer credits

Transcripts from all colleges and universities must be submitted directly to the Office of the Registrar for evaluation.  Transcripts will be reviewed to determine what courses will transfer to USI, and their equivalent USI courses.

How to Apply to Dietetics Specialty

In addition to University admission, students interested in applying to the Dietetics specialty must also complete the Dietetics Admission Application after the following requirements have been met.

  • Complete prerequisite courses with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.9 (4.0 scale).
    • Complete the following course work (or equivalent) with a minimum 2.9 overall grade point average:  *BIOL 121, PSY 201, ENG 101, CMST 101 or 107, MATH 111, *CHEM 261, *NUTR 203 and *NUTR 376
    • Course with a "*" require a "C" or better.
