Adrienne Bond

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Registered Nurse, Vanderburgh County Health Department

From: Morgantown, Indiana, Indian Creek High School

Where do you currently reside? Evansville, Indiana

What brought you to USI?
I came to USI because of the great things I had heard about the nursing program. I also liked the size of the school.

Please tell us how the College of Nursing and Health Professions prepared you for your career.
The College of Nursing and Health Professions equipped me with the knowledge and practical skills needed to become a nurse. The college also emphasized holistic nursing care and seeing the whole person which has helped me tremendously in my position as a home visiting public health nurse.

Were you in any clubs, organizations, athletics? USI student ambassadors

What has been your favorite memory of your time at USI?
Being a nursing student, I spent the majority of my time in college studying in the library. l was so grateful for the REC group exercise classes that allowed me to take a break from studying, have a little fun and do something good for my body.

I also really enjoyed Southern Hospitality Days as a student ambassador. I remember waking up really early (or what seemed like really early to a college student) on Saturday mornings to greet prospective students and their parents. It was so fun seeing their excitement and playing a part in their college search.

What would you tell someone who is thinking of coming to USI?
USI is a really great school. It’s large enough to experience all the aspects of college life but small enough that your professors know you by name. All of my nursing professors were the kindest people.
