Accounting major Megan Bueltel '23 has been selected as a PCAOB Scholar and will receive a Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) scholarship in the amount of $10,000. “I am extremely honored to have received this scholarship, and it really shows that hard work does pay off," Bueltel says. "I am very thankful for all the professors and staff of the RCOB who have helped push me to excel in my studies and my internships which all led me to where I am today.”
Bueltel, a member of the Romain College of Business Student Advisory Board, says the scholarship will help her reach her career goals. "After I did an audit internship, I quickly learned that I wanted to begin my career in audit. I have accepted a full time offer upon graduation at FORVIS (formerly BKD) as an audit associate. I plan to work in public accounting for at least 3-5 years and get my CPA license in that time frame."
"The PCAOB Scholarship is designed to benefit students who are likely to become auditors and is only available to students at universities that maintain both AACSB business and accounting accreditation," explains Dr. Thomas Noland, chair of Accounting and Finance. "Megan's selection as a PCAOB Scholar is well-deserved and is a result of her hard work in the classroom and during her internship."
