Fall 2020 Accountants in the Classroom presentations

Thank you to the professionals who were presenters for the Accountants in the Classroom program this semester. The presentations give students a chance to find out about accounting as a career path. Each speaker talks about his or her perspective based on their area of expertise, whether they are in public, private or governmental accounting. These individuals take time out of their day to talk to business majors about the near-unlimited career opportunities for accounting majors

Charlie Pride, Jr. is CFO with Indiana United Ways and a member of the USI Accounting Circle advisory board. He was the guest speaker in Dr. Mark McKnight's Accounting 201 class. Pride is a three-time graduate of USI, earning degrees in finance, accounting and CIS in 2003, 2009 and 2013. Michael Carroll '88, accounting, is CFO of Heritage Federal Credit Union and chair of Romain College's Accounting Circle. Carroll talked to the students in Dr. Thomas Noland's Accounting 202 and 303 classes.

"Having working professionals speak to accounting classes gives students information on the different paths an accounting degree can provide. It also gives students a flavor of what the day to day work environment entails," said Noland. "I want to thank all the volunteers who spoke to our classes this fall."
