Students in Money & Banking class participate in writing contest as part of Financial Literacy Month

The students in Dr. Marie Bussing's Money & Banking class had an opportunity to participate in a Financial Literacy Writing Competition, in honor of April's Financial Literacy Month.  Students are invited to prepare an essay piece on personal savings, debt, budgeting, macroeconomic issues, or banking concerns. 

Dr. Erin Yetter, St. Louis Federal Reserve (Louisville Branch), Economic Education Specialist, chose a first, second and third work to be featured on the Romain College's website:

• First: "The Problem with Derivatives" by Logan Lengacher
• Second: "A Time We Would Like to Forget" by Kaelin Martlock
• Third: "Derivative Markets" by Robert Goodwin

On March 30, 2016, Dr. Yetter visited Dr. Bussing's class with a presentation entitled, "Myths, Tall Tales, and Urban Legends: Facts Behind the Fed."
