USI students present new product ideas in second annual TCA event

Four teams of University of Southern Indiana business and engineering students pitched the ideas they developed in the five-week Technology Commercialization Academy, a partnership between USI and Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center

Students worked with a radio intelligence patent from Crane and incorporated that technology into practical applications that people can use. This year’s ideas included an eband for theme park guests, real-time inventory tracking, instant coupons push to shoppers’ smartphones, and cell phone signals to identify emergency or disaster situations.

The second annual event took place in the atrium of USI’s Business and Engineering Center and was attended by USI faculty, administrators, students, investors, and community leaders.
