The USI MBA helps working professionals strengthen strategic, behavioral, and technical skills needed in dynamic business environments. Our affordable program can be completed at your own pace and experienced faculty are here to support you every step of the way. The course schedule can be viewed here.

Program Courses
Our program consists of 10 graduate courses (7 core courses and 3 concentration courses) which equal 30 credit hours. The MBA program can be completed in as little as 1 year, and you can enroll in any of our six start dates each year. We offer two formats to help you manage the time and effort required for the MBA degree. The hybrid format allows students to take courses online or on campus in 8 weeks or 16 weeks. The online only format allows students to take courses online in 8 weeks.

Concentration Areas

The USI MBA concentrations are not designed to make you a specialist as that would require an entire master’s degree to accomplish. The MBA concentrations are designed to increase your ability as a manager to interact with specialists in each respective area. All concentration courses are online. You must declare a concentration in order for that information to appear on your transcript. If you do not declare a concentration you will be general MBA status.

General MBA

The USI MBA General concentration develops skills in data-driven decision making and is designed to allow students to customize the program to their area of interest. Specifically, one course in data-driven decision making is required and students can choose two non-core courses from other USI MBA concentrations to fulfill the general concentration requirements.

The USI MBA Accounting concentration prepares you for leadership in the high-demand area of managerial accounting. Gain the business acumen and accounting skills you need for analyzing financial statements, auditing, and complying with accounting regulations.

Data Analytics Concentration

Healthcare Administration Concentration

The USI MBA Healthcare Administration concentration develops business-related competencies necessary for effective operation of healthcare organizations. Specifically, this concentration teaches analytical skills used across all levels of health care units to manage risk, make data-driven decisions, and set organizational strategy.

Human Resource Management Concentration

The USI MBA Human Resource Management concentration develops the expert knowledge and organizational strategies needed to manage the most valuable asset in any business—its people. Specifically, this concentration develops skills relevant to human resource managers such as making data-driven decisions, complying with legal regulations, and managing human capital effectively.

Marketing Concentration

The USI Marketing MBA concentration develops strategic and tactical marketing expertise through focus on digital marketing, applications of consumer behavior models, and advanced analytical techniques. Students in the Marketing concentration will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to grow brands, build stronger customer relationships, grow revenue, and become effective marketing leaders in any organization.

Project Management Concentration

The USI MBA Project Management concentration prepares you to initiate, manage, monitor, and control resources to execute a project in accordance with industry practice. You will learn the content of the project management domain and apply that knowledge to real-life situations. All content is aligned with the PMI (Project Management Institute) to prepare you to obtain industry-accepted Project Management Certifications.

End Of Program Assessment

All students will take an end of program assessment. Assessment results are used for the AACSB accrediting process for the USI MBA. Faculty members may also use the results to make curriculum changes. USI strongly encourages each student to perform the assessment to the best of their ability and help USI maintain its AACSB certification, the value and credibility of the MBA program, and the prestige of your new degree.

Retention

Graduate students must maintain a cumulative graduate program grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 to remain in good standing and progress in the graduate program. 

How to Apply

Step 1: Choose your Concentration area

The USI MBA concentrations are designed to expand knowledge in each respective area. As they contain graduate level coursework, we advise students to only select concentrations in which they have foundational knowledge. Please see concentration descriptions above.

Step 2: Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria for admission to USI’s MBA program:

  • Completed bachelor's degree (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5) from an institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) or a comparable association.
  • For foreign-born applicants whose native spoken language is not English, official scores for Test of English as a Foreign Language exams (TOEFL Minimum score: 550 (paper-based); 79 (internet-based), or IELTS (Minimum score: 6.5), must be submitted to Graduate Studies along with an application unless a bachelor’s or higher degree from a United States institution of higher education has been obtained.

Step 3: Application & Supporting Documents

To get started, complete the following:

  1. Submit an online application, $40 application fee and contact information for three professional references. While not required, students may also submit a GMAT/GRE score if desired. 
  2. Upload an updated resume to your application account.
  3. Submit official transcripts to Graduate Studies.
    • Official electronic transcripts are preferred and can be emailed from the previous institution to Graduate.Studies@usi.edu
