Blues Café

SWI-AHEC's Blues Café addresses depression, anxiety during holidays

The Blues Café is an invitation for health professionals, faith-based community members, students and the general public to engage with a panel of professionals providing information, answering questions, and sharing techniques for coping during the holidays.

Depression, stress and anxiety are common and often enhanced during the holiday months by current or previous life events (divorce, terminal illness or loss of a loved one, separation from family, lack of employment). People can struggle during what is supposed to be the “most wonderful time of the year.”

The panel of experts will include:

  • Linda Evinger, MSN, RN, WHNP USI Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing Emerita
  • Dr. Veronica Huggins USI Assistant Professor of Social Work
  • Ange Humphrey Pastor, Fresh Air Community of Faith
  • Rev. Lorinda Taylor G.A.P. Ministries Christian Fellowship
