Programming for Health Professionals

SWI-AHEC strives to enhance access to continuing education in the health professions and to clinical information resources that are responsive to the needs of clinicians caring for medically underserved communities and the health care needs of those communities. Below is a calendar of continuing education events throughout the region. SWI-AHEC may provide financial support for health professionals from Critical Access Hospitals, Community Health Clinics, Federally Qualified Health Clinics, Rural Health Clinics to attend relevant continuing education opportunities.

VA Mental Health Summit and Workshop

SWI-AHEC partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the University of Southern Indiana's Veteran, Military and Family Resource Center to sponsor a Mental Health Summit and Workshop on July 28, 2015.

Critical Access Hospital-Continuing Education

SWI-AHEC partnered with the University of Southern Indiana to create a continuing education program focused on the needs of Critical Access Hospitals. This pilot program was a huge success and has been implemented as a continual program. This opportunity is available to Critical Access Hospital throughout the state of Indiana, as well as other states. SWI-AHEC provided financial support for the Critical Access Hospitals in Southwest Indiana, if your Critical Access Hospital is located in another region of Indiana there may be local AHEC funding available.
