Pre-Medical Laboratory Sciences

MLS Professionals in the Laboratory

Medical Laboratory Science professionals are a crucial element of healthcare. These scientists provide laboratory analyses and assist physicians in treatment and diagnosis. Generation of accurate laboratory test results requires expertise at the laboratory bench as well as in areas such as chemistry, immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology.

In the Covid-19 pandemic, Medical Laboratory Scientists are serving on the front lines by managing Covid testing for many hospitals and laboratories. The ability to reliably conduct tests, evaluate results, and integrate data helps these professionals keep us healthy.
