Post Master’s Certification

MSN prepared nurses may apply for admission and receive a post master's certificate in the AGNP acute, AG-CNS, FNP, and PMHNP specialties.  Admission to the Post-Master’s Certificate option requires admission to the USI Office of Graduate Studies which includes a copy of the MSN transcript and admission to the USI Graduate Nursing Program.

To complete the AGNP- ACUTE, FNP, PMHNP, or AG- CNS Post Master's Certificate option the applicant must:

  1. Provide documentation of successful completion of a Pathophysiology course within the past 5 years.
  2. Provide documentation of successful completion of a graduate level pharmacology course. If the pharmacology course is older than five years, the student must have completed a minimum of 8 continuing education hours in pharmacology within the past 2 years of beginning the Post MSN certificate program. The continuing education in pharmacology must have been through a nationally-approved sponsor of continuing education for nurses.
  3. Successfully complete the advanced health assessment course and the required specialty courses.
