Eating on a Budget

Ideally, cooking at home is the best option to get the most food for your money. However, they may be times when you need to go out or you want to go out but need to do so cheaply. Below are a few options close to campus that will hopefully fit your budget.

Taco Bell

  • $1.00 Items
    • Three Cheese Nacho Grande Burrito
    • Chicken Enchilada Grande Burrito
    • Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadilla
    • Beefy Mini Quesadilla
    • Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito 
    • Cheesy Roll Up
    • Spicy Potato Soft Taco
    • Spicy Tostada
    • Triple Layer Nachos 
  • $5.00 boxes
    • There is almost always some sort of five-dollar box offered here. They generally consist of three or four items and a drink. It's a pretty good way to get the most bang for your buck when looking for a meal that may actually fill you up.

Wendy's

    • For the time being, Wendy's is offering a deal where you get four items for fours dollars. It's generally a burger, nuggets, fries and a drink. It's another great option if you need something slightly more substantial.

Wendy's does offer a 10% discount to USI students so be sure to bring your ID and mention that you attend USI!

Dairy Queen

  • $5 Buck Lunches: DQ has a variety of $5 buck lunches that include a main entree, fries, a drink and a sundae of your choosing. They generally offer this deal from 11-4. Entree option include:
    • 3 Piece Chicken Strip Lunch
    • Deluxe Cheeseburger Lunch
    • KC BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Lunch
    • Crispy Chicken Salad Lunch
  • 6$ Buck Lunches: Again, generally offered from 11-4 and includes the same thing as the $5 buck lunch. The only difference is that the entree proportions are slightly bigger than the $5 buck lunches. If you are feeling slightly hungrier then this may be a better option for you.
    • 1/3 Pound Double with Cheese Lunch
    • Crispy Chicken Sandwich 

McDonald's
