Public Notice: Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)/HEERF II & American Rescue Plan (ARP)/HEERF III

Reporting as of March 31, 2022 (This is the institution’s final quarterly posting for HEERF II & HEERF III as all funds have been expended.)

  1. The University of Southern Indiana (USI) acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement. USI has used/intends to use the applicable amount of funds under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)/HEERF II and American Rescue Plan (ARP)/HEERF III as Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  2. The amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for Emergency Grants to students under the CRRSAA/HEERF II and ARP/HEERF III programs totals $11,974,302 including $2,945,141 from CRRSAA/HEERF II and $9,029,161 from ARP/HEERF III.
  3. $4,245,561.17 in ARP/HEERF III emergency grants were distributed to students in the first quarter of 2022. This amount includes $150.17 in CRRSAA/HEERF II funds that were re-awarded to other eligible students after funds had been returned to the Department due to uncashed refund checks. The total amount of CRRSAA/HEERF II & ARP/HEERF III emergency grants distributed to students to date is equal to our total allocation received $11,974,302.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA/HEERF II and ARP/HEERF III programs is 11,485.
  5. 3,263 students were awarded in the first quarter of 2022 for a total number of 5,940 students to date who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to Students under CRRSAA/HEERF II and ARP/HEERF III.
  6. Grants are distributed to students who submit an application verifying their need for emergency funding. Grant amounts are determined by a formulated approach based upon review of the student’s HEERF application, level, enrollment, citizenship status and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) resulting from submission of the FAFSA corresponding to the aid year they for which they are enrolled.
  7. Instructions and application related to the emergency grants are provided on the USI website. Students are also sent emails outlining what the funding is intended to be used for and includes a link to the application to apply for a grant.

Reporting as of December 31, 2021

  1. The University of Southern Indiana (USI) acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement. USI has used/intends to use the applicable amount of funds under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)/HEERF II and American Rescue Plan (ARP)/HEERF III as Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  2. The amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for Emergency Grants to students under the CRRSAA/HEERF II and ARP/HEERF III programs totals $11,974,302 including $2,945,141 from CRRSAA/HEERF II and $9,029,161 from ARP/HEERF III.
  3. $875,125 in ARP/HEERF III emergency grants were distributed to students in the fourth quarter of 2021. $25.17 in CRRSAA/HEERF II funds were returned to the Department due to an uncashed refund check; these funds will be re-awarded to another eligible student. The total amount of CRRSAA/HEERF II & ARP/HEERF III emergency grants distributed to students to date is $7,728,865.83.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA/HEERF II and ARP/HEERF III programs is 10,776.
  5. 945 students were awarded in the fourth quarter of 2021 for a total number of 5,217 students to date who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant to Students under CRRSAA/HEERF II and ARP/HEERF III.
  6. Grants are distributed to students who submit an application verifying their need for emergency funding. Grant amounts are determined by a formulated approach based upon review of the student’s HEERF III application, level, enrollment, citizenship status and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) resulting from submission of the FAFSA corresponding to the aid year they for which they are enrolled.

Public Notice: American Rescue Plan (ARP)/HEERF III

Reporting as of September 30, 2021 

  1. The University of Southern Indiana acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement. USI intends to use no less than 50% of the funds under the American Rescue Plan/HEERF III as emergency financial aid grants to students.
  2. The total amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for emergency grants to students totals $9,029,161.
  3. Total amount of HEERF III emergency grant funds distributed to date is $3,908,625.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the ARP/HEERF III program is 9,111.
  5. The total number of students who have received an emergency grant under HEERF III totals 3,851.
  6. Grants are distributed to students who submit an application verifying their need for emergency funding. Grant amounts are determined by a formulated approach based upon review of the student’s HEERF III application, level, enrollment, citizenship status and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) resulting from submission of the FAFSA corresponding to the aid year they for which they are enrolled.

  2. Total amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for emergency grants for students totals $9,029,161.
  3. Total amount of HEERF III emergency grant funds distributed to date is $0.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the ARP/HEERF III program is 4,096.
  5. The total number of students who have received an emergency grant under HEERF III totals 0.
  6. Grants are distributed to students who submit an application verifying their need for emergency funding. Grant amounts are determined by a formulated approach based upon review of the student’s HEERF III application, level, enrollment, citizenship status and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) resulting from submission of the FAFSA corresponding to the aid year they for which they are enrolled.

  1. The University of Southern Indiana acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement. USI intends to spend the same dollar amount on student grants as we were required to spend under the CARES Act.
  2. Total amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for emergency grants for students totals $2,945,141.
  3. Total amount of HEERF II emergency grant funds distributed this quarter is $451,891.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA/HEERF II program is 7,543.
  5. The total number of students this quarter who have received an emergency grant under HEERF II totals 279.
  6. Initial grants were distributed in a formulated approach based upon enrollment and Pell Grant eligibility as determined by the submission of the 2020-2021 FAFSA. Awards were distributed to students who were registered in the Spring 2021 semester and eligible for Federal Title IV Financial Aid at that time. Funds were awarded to students through the review of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)/HEERF II Emergency Grant Fund Application during the 2021 Spring session.

Reporting as of March 31, 2021

  1. The University of Southern Indiana acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement. USI intends to spend the same dollar amount on student grants as we were required to spend under the CARES Act.
  2. Total amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for emergency grants for students totals $2,945,141.
  3. Total amount of HEERF II emergency grant funds distributed to date is $2,493,250.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the CRRSAA/HEERF II program is 7,526.
  5. The total number of students who have received an emergency grant under HEERF II totals 1,458.
  6. Initial grants were distributed in a formulated approach based upon enrollment and Pell Grant eligibility as determined by the submission of the 2020-2021 FAFSA. Awards were distributed to students who were registered in the Spring 2021 semester and eligible for Federal Title IV Financial Aid at that time. Funds were awarded to students through the review of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA)/HEERF II Emergency Grant Fund Application during the 2021 Spring session.

  1. The University of Southern Indiana acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the Department the Certification and Agreement. USI intends to use no less than 50% of the funds under the CARES Act as emergency financial aid grants to students.
  2. Total amount of funds we will receive or have received from the Department for emergency grants for students totals $2,945,141.
  3. Total amount of CARES Act emergency grant funds distributed to date is $2,945,141.
  4. The estimated total number of students eligible for Title IV aid is 8108.
  5. The total number of students who have received an emergency grant under the CARES Act totals 4,857.
  6. Initial grants were distributed in a formulated approach based upon enrollment and Pell Grant eligibility as determined by the submission of the 2019-2020 FAFSA. Awards were distributed to students who were registered in the Spring 2020 semester and eligible for Federal Title IV Financial Aid at that time. Remaining funds were then awarded to students through the review of the CARES Act/HEERF Emergency Grant Fund Application during the 2020 Spring, Summer 1, Summer 2, Summer 3 and/or Fall sessions.

Awards were distributed to students who were registered in the Spring 2020 semester and eligible for Federal Title IV Financial Aid at that time. Remaining funds were then awarded to students through the review of the CARES Act/HEERF Emergency Grant Fund Application during the 2020 Spring, Summer 1, Summer 2, Summer 3 and/or Fall sessions.
