Endeavor Presentation Awards are given to support students’ travel to present research and/or creative works. Any USI undergraduate student is eligible, and students may receive an Endeavor Presentation Award even if they have not received an Endeavor Student Collaboration Award. A student who has received an Endeavor Student Collaboration Award, however, may also receive an Endeavor Presentation Award.
This award program is designed to assist undergraduate students traveling to professional meetings, conferences, or showings to present their creative efforts and research. Students are encouraged to apply for funds up to $1,000 to help defray travel costs. Multiple students applying for a single presentation (e.g., team competitions or multiple student authors of a single conference paper/poster) may request funding up to $2,000. The team's faculty mentor will distribute the award funds. Each student presenting must complete a separate Endeavor Presentation cover sheet, which can be attached to a single proposal. Proposals must be accompanied by an acceptance from the conference or organization which is sponsoring the academic presentation.
Once their award is approved, all award recipients must complete University travel authorization forms and submit them to the USI Travel Office as soon as possible.
All successful Presentation Award applicants are also required to present their research at the Endeavor Undergraduate Research and Creative Works Symposium in April. All Endeavor awardees are expected to present at the next possible Symposium.
Project award deadlines: Travel grants can be applied for at any time. To apply, however, the committee recommends you apply a minimum of 30 days before you must travel. Submit proposals for the Endeavor Presentation Award electronically to Michael Strezewski, mstrezewsk@usi.edu. Send the cover page, the conference or competition acceptance, a letter of support from your mentor, the proposed budget, and a short proposal that explains the project in PDF format, please. Do not submit paper proposals.
