Safety Data Sheets

Safety Data Sheets (formally MSDS) are documents which provide detailed information about a chemical's hazards and how to work with each chemical safely.

Each chemical manufacturer or importer is required to provide an SDS for all of their chemicals. Employees have the right to immediately access any SDS for chemicals used in the workplace.

The Manufacturer - Each chemical manufacturer is required to provide an SDS at the time of purchase.

Free links from the Risk Management website - Risk Management also provides links to free online sites with SDS and Chemical Safety Databases.

Environmental Health and Safety - If the above sources prove unsuccessful in obtaining a SDS, please contact the office of Environmental Health and Safety at 812-461-5393.
