Accidental asbestos fiber releases are uncommon at USI, however, the potential does exist. In the event of a release, Environmental Health and Safety will assess and coordinate the emergency isolation, cleanup and air monitoring activities.
If an asbestos release occurs within a building, the affected area will be evacuated and sealed off. All HVAC inlets and outlets to that area will be isolated, and all doors and windows will be closed.
