Indiana Code 20-28-11.5-9) requires principals at each charter school (including virtual schools) and school corporation to complete a survey that provides information regarding the principal’s assessment of the quality of instruction by each particular teacher preparation program located in Indiana for teachers employed at the school who initially received their teaching license in Indiana the previous two years. The survey was developed by the Indiana Department of Education in consultation with various stakeholder groups such as the Indiana Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (IACTE). The survey addresses three domains (knowledge, disposition, and performance) and reflects elements of both national professional standards from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) and the Interstate New Teacher Assessment and Support Consortium (InTASC). Due to a glitch in the licensure system the results of the 2018 survey are limited.
