If you’re interested in enrolling in Army ROTC and you are in college, you can start by taking an Army ROTC Basic Course. The Military Science Classes are open registration courses, in which any student at USI can enroll. All you have to do to enroll is to advise your academic advisor that you intend on enrolling into the Army ROTC program or you can self enroll on MyUSI.edu. The only courses available to Freshman and Sophomores without a course over-ride are MS 101, 102, 201 and 202.
If students are interested in the Military History Courses, MS 241 and 242, they must make an appointment with the Assistant Professor of Military Science in the Lower Level of the Education Building, RM 0106. A closed course override must be completed before students can enroll in the Military History Course.
If you have at least two or more years remaining toward your undergraduate degree, but not enough time to complete the Basic Course, you can enter the Army ROTC Advanced Course by completing the Leader’s Training Course held at Fort Knox, Kentucky, during the summer.
Talk to your campus Military Science department about other ways to enroll in Army ROTC and the incentives available, including opportunities to compete for two-, three- or four-year scholarships.
