Economic Impact Studies An economic impact analysis examines the effect of an event on the economy in a specified area, ranging from a single neighborhood to the entire globe. It usually measures changes in business revenue, business profits, personal wages and/or jobs. |
Comprehensive Community Planning CAR faculty and staff assist in this planning process, which is a type of planning that is designed to be very inclusive, culture and community-specific, and long term. Typically, these plans range from 25-100 year plans, with high-level goals and a vision that represents the overarching dreams for the community. |

The University of Southern Indiana’s Center for Applied Research (CAR) has been selected by the Indiana Economic Development Association (IEDA) to conduct a comprehensive statewide study on tax incremental financing (TIF).
I-69 Innovation Corridor Interchange Study

Currently in progress, USI civil engineering students survey the undeveloped highway interchanges surrounding Interstate 69. The data captured will encourage and assist in the development of economic activities within the region.
