Application and Selection Process

Application Materials

The following information must be received no later than January 7, 2022:

1. The Harolyn Torain Multicultural Leadership Scholarship application
   
   
2. Application for admission to USI
   
   
3. Official high school transcript and test scores (ACT and/or SAT). If transcripts are mailed by your high school, they must be postmarked no later than January 7, 2022 (U.S. Post Office postmarks only).
   
   
4. Letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal, or guidance counselor (Due by January 7, 2022).

Late applications are not accepted.

Please have your teacher, principal, or guidance counselor send the letters of recommendation electronically to the Selection Committee at mcc@usi.edu with the subject line of: MLS Recommendation

Selection Process

Approximately 50 applicants will be selected by the review committee to attend the Scholarship Interview Day based on their scholarship application information and letter of recommendation. From this group, twenty (20) recipients will be selected to receive the Harolyn Torain Multicultural Leadership Scholarship.
