Searching for Programs
Now that you have accessed the program search tool, you may search for USI approved study abroad programs using the Map Search tool, or use the other available search tools located in the tool bar above the Map Search.
When searching for programs, we recommend that students begin their search broadly by selecting countries or regions of interest first. After this step, students should start to narrow down their countries or regions of interest by determining which programs offer applicable or desired courses of study. Study abroad program titles that appear on the "Program Search Results" page are hyperlinked and students should utilize the direct links to program pages available on their brochure pages. If you are noticing programs available on program provider websites that are not available in the myUSI program database, please contact us at go.abroad@usi.edu to advise.
Before applying to a study abroad program, students should attend a Study Abroad Event such as the Study Abroad Fair September 6th, 2018, a study abroad information session, or schedule an appointment with a study abroad advisor. You may schedule an appointment with a study abroad advisor by emailing go.abroad@usi.edu, calling (812)465-1248, or stopping by our office in UCE 1234.
How to Apply
Before applying to a study abroad program, students should attend a Study Abroad Event such as the Study Abroad Fair September 6th, 2018, a study abroad information session, or schedule an appointment with a study abroad advisor.
The study abroad advisor will walk you through the details of your program to ensure that you have the information necessary before applying to a program. USI approved study abroad programs may have different housing, meal plans, and excursion packages that you should be aware of.
Students should review the offered courses from their program of choice and meet with their academic advisor before applying. Your study abroad advisor can help you locate available courses offered by your study abroad program.
Students will submit two applications to study abroad. The students should apply to their study abroad program's webpage directly and to the matching program title located in the myUSI Study Abroad Portal. If you are noticing programs available on program provider websites that are not available in the myUSI program database, please contact us at go.abroad@usi.edu to advise. The myUSI Study Abroad Portal application does not have an application fee, but students should expect to pay an application fee for the application submitted to the study abroad program provider.
