Baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine Scholarship (B/MD)

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the first 60 undergraduate hours
  • Must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA after earning 60 or more hours
  • Continuous enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • 8 semesters of enrollment eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. Tuition will be provided for summer coursework of 11 credit hours or less for summer. Summer coursework totaling 12 or more credit hours will provided but will count as 1 semester of usage.

NEW David L. Rice Merit Scholarship (Awarded to newly matriculating students for Fall 2021 and Beyond)

Renewal Criteria:

  • All awards equal to or less than $2,999, require a 2.50 cumulative GPA
  • All awards equal to or greater than $3,000, require a 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of enrollment eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. Full-time enrollment is required for summer usage and it will count as 1 semester.

Note: Rice Scholarship can be used for all allowable USI billable costs, non-refundable.

Deans Scholarship

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA after earning 0-59 hours
  • Must maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA after earning 60-89 hours
  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA after earning 90 or more hours
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of enrollment eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May not be used in the summer.

Harolyn Torain Multicultural Leadership Scholarship

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 24 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of enrollment eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • Potentially eligible for summer. See detailed guidelines for more information.

Illinois Regional Award

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain USI Academic Good standing
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. No minimum enrollment is required for summer usage.

Kentucky Regional Award

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain USI Academic Good standing
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. No minimum enrollment is required for summer usage.

Medical Professional Merit Scholarship

Renewal Criteria:

  • MPS with Distinction must maintain 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • MPS General must maintain 2.75 cumulative GPA
  • MPS with Distinction must be seeking a major within the Pott College of Science, Engineering and Education or College of Nursing and Health Professions
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of enrollment eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May not be used in the summer.

Multicultural Leadership Recognition Award

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain USI Academic Good standing
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 24 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • Potentially eligibility for summer. See detailed guidelines for more information.

Out-Of-State Grant

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. Full-time enrollment is required for summer usage and it will count as 1 semester.

Out-of-State Merit Scholarship

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • The additional $2,000 may be used for fall/spring only
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. No minimum enrollment is required for summer usage.

Out-of-State Transfer Grant 

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. Full-time enrollment is required for summer usage and it will count as 1 semester.

Out-of-State Transfer Top Scholar Award 

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. No minimum enrollment is required for summer usage.

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA after earning 0-59 hours
  • Must maintain a 3.4 cumulative GPA after earning 60 or more hours
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 27 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. Students enrolled full-time in the summer receive full scholarship benefits and it will count as 1 semester of usage. Students who enroll in less than 12 semester hours during the summer receive only tuition, instructional fees, and a book allowance of $100 per class

Transfer Merit Scholarship

Renewal Criteria:

  • Must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Continuous full-time enrollment (fall/spring)
  • Successful completion of 24 credit hours (fall/spring)
  • May be used for 4 consecutive years/8 semesters of eligibility (or until first bachelor’s degree)
  • May be used for the summer if renewal criteria are met in the previous semester. Full-time enrollment is required for summer usage and it will count as 1 semester.
