USI Institutional Scholarships
Each scholarship has its own set of guidelines that must be followed in order to renew the scholarship each year. Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in cancellation of the scholarship and forfeiture of all future entitlement.
Earned hours and cumulative GPA will be evaluated at the conclusion of each spring semester. If renewal criteria are not met, classes may be taken in the summer at USI (at the student’s expense) to make up the deficiency. Upon the completion of your summer course(s), you must complete and submit the Appeal of Financial Aid Ineligibility to request reinstatement of your scholarship(s).
An Academic exception can be requested to the enrollment requirement for program schedule restrictions. The request must be documented by the Academic advisor.
A Leave of Absence for one semester can be requested by the student due to extenuating circumstances such as an illness, co-op/internship, etc.
An appeal may be submitted to request reinstatement of scholarship(s) due to extenuating circumstances if the renewal criteria are not met. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the Student Financial Assistance Appeals Committee at USI. Complete the Appeal of Financial Aid Ineligibility and attach the requested supporting documentation. The appeal may be found online at https://www.usi.edu/financial-aid/forms/. Decisions of the Appeals Committee are final.
Select the timeframe in which you initially enrolled/matriculated at USI and then select your scholarship(s) for additional information.
