BREAKING NEWS: Loan Forgiveness/Debt Relief
President Biden announced on August 24, 2022, his administration’s plan regarding loan forgiveness and debt relief. Not all of the details have been established at this time. For the most accurate and current information related to potential debt forgiveness, you should visit StudentAid.gov.
You may also view your complete federal financial aid history including loan balances and Pell Grant recipient status on StudentAid.gov. More details on how to apply will become available in the weeks ahead. If you want to be notified when the application is open, sign up for notifications at the ED subscription page. In addition to loan cancellation, the student loan payment pause continues through December 31, 2022.
The 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available online at FAFSA.gov or on the myStudentAid app. The state of Indiana's deadline to be considered for state grant programs is April 15.
