The University of Southern Indiana celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2015! The past five decades have seen a remarkable transformation from Indiana State University Evansville to USI, a thriving independent public institution with a reputation for excellence in education and community engagement.
USI will celebrate its anniversary with a series of events throughout the year. The festivities will commemorate the University’s history, but also will focus on the future, as USI continues to grow and expand to meet the ever-changing needs of the region and its students. Highlights of the year of events include the unveiling of a physical timeline to be permanently displayed in the Wright Administration Building; public lecture series, open to the public; networking and social gatherings with the Alumni Association; art displays and theatre productions; student activities; and community events. September 14-20, the week of the University’s founding, featured a multitude of events in honor of the 50th Anniversary Celebration Week.
