Interesting info

Attractive plant is very similar to wild sunflowers.

Distinctive because of the "wings" that extend along the stem.

Similar to woodland sunflower, which will bloom in July and August.

Height: 2' - 4'

Frequency: Several plants found in low, dry woods near the overcup oak slough

Blooms: June

Range: Reaches its northern limit in southern Indiana, where it is found infrequently.

Also found from Ohio to Iowa and from Georgia to Texas.
