About Volunteer USI

Volunteer USI is a University-wide program to recruit, place and recognize volunteers who give their services and talents to benefit USI and the surrounding communities.

Made up of student, alumni, employee and community volunteers, it is an organization of individuals that donate their time to this University and to their communities. Founded in July of 1996, Volunteer USI is coordinated through the office of Alumni Relations and Volunteer USI.

Time Commitment

One-time Events

Often these events or projects involve groups of volunteers on a specific day, such as Assessment Day, the Varsity Club golf outing, Spruce Up or the Alumni picnic.

Short-term Assignments

Volunteers are needed to assist with specific projects that have a particular time frames. These can range from a few days to a few hours for a week to a month.

Ongoing Commitments

Those who have ample time to give can volunteer on a regular basis. Such commitments include library and tour guides, office assistance, readers and more.

On-call

After becoming a volunteer familiar with work needed, you can offer your time in other ways such as filling in for other volunteers or assisting with unexpected projects.
