Interesting info

Fringed flower and whorled leaves make this plant distinctive.

Very few of these plants found in the preserve. They seem to prefer well-drained soil in the lower areas of the woods.

You ought to know

Height: 1' - 3'

Frequency: Few found in low, dry woods

Blooms: June - July

Range: Reaches its northern limit in southern Indiana. Found in dry woodland.

Also found from Massachusetts to Minnesota and from Georgia to Arkansas to Nebraska.
