Interesting info

Attractive flower is supposed to resemble the face of a monkey.

Some white monkey flowers have been seen at the preserve; these are listed as rare in botanical guides.

Blooms along with the beautiful cardinal flower.

You ought to know

Height: 1' - 5'

Frequency: Only a few plants found in low, very wet woods.

Blooms: August

Range: Considered frequent in southern Indiana, less so in the north where the similar Mimulus ringens grows.

Also found from Connecticut to Nebraska and from north Florida to east Texas.
