Distinctive spangle grass has oat-shaped flowers that dangle from a gracefully curving stalk.

Frequency: Found in isolated patches in the wet woods.

Blooms: From June to the end of summer.

Range: More common in southern Indiana, especially in the bottomlands, than elsewhere in the state.

Also reported from New Jersey to Kansas and from Florida to Texas.
