Interesting info

Tall bellflower is one of the few blue wildflowers found at the preserve.

The star-shaped flowers grow on long branching spikes.

The flower has a distinctive long, curving style at its center, something like an elephant's trunk.

 

You ought to know

Height: to 6'

Frequency: Several plants found in drier areas of the woods.

Blooms: July and August

Range: Found throughout Indiana, especially at the edge of woods.

Also reported from New Brunswick to South Dakota, from Kentucky to Kansas, and as far south as Arkansas.
