Bushy plant has inconspicuous, orange-yellow flowers without petals.

Found growing on logs in the swamp water. Easily seen from boardwalk. Two or three plants found in wet areas of trail.

Height: To 6' and more

Frequency:Abundant in cypress swamp.

Blooms: August to the end of summer

Range: Found infrequently throughout Indiana, especially in dried-up swamps.

Also found from New England to Minnesota and from Virginia to Louisiana and Texas
