Interesting info

An attractive pinkish-purple flower, much deeper in shade than swamp milkweed (which blooms in July) or the even paler common milkweed.

The familiar milkweed pod forms on a curlicue stem, much like a pig's tail.

 

You ought to know

Height: 2' - 3'

Frequency: Sparse in low, dry areas of shady woods.

Blooms: May and early June.

Range: Found infrequently throughout Indiana and from New England to North Carolina and from Minnesota to Arkansas
